COVID-19: Recoveries outnumber new cases for 4 straight days, but Malaysia continues to record over 70 deaths today

Malaysia has recorded 5,671 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 639,562. There are 73 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 3,684.

The Ministry of Health has reported 7,325 new recoveries and a total of 556,030 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The total number of new recoveries outnumber new cases for four straight days. The recovery rate is now 86.94% while the mortality rate is at 0.58%.

There are currently 79,848 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 911 are in ICU while 462 require respiratory support.

Out of the 5,671 new cases today, 8 are imported while 5,663 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,510 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 769 cases, Sarawak with 631 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 593 cases.
