Serial Apple leakster L0vetodream has tweeted yet another potential upgrade the iPhone 13 lineup will have over the current phones – bigger batteries. However, while the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro are looking at batteries 8-9.9% bigger over their predecessors, the iPhone 13 Pro Max may be getting a 4,352mAh battery, which is a massive 18% increase in size over the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
This leak seems to line up with another rumour that Apple are bringing Samsung-made 120Hz ProMotion displays to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, in comparison to the 60Hz panels on all of the iPhone 12 variants. These 120Hz panels would in turn require more power to keep running, which might explain the need for battery 18% bigger than the one currently in the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
As a recap, the battery sizes of the current lineup of iPhone 12 are:
iPhone 12 mini – 2,227mAh
iPhone 12 and 12 Pro – 2,815mAh
iPhone 12 Pro Max – 3,687mAh
Meanwhile, L0vetodream’s leak claims that the battery sizes of the iPhone 13 lineup will be:
iPhone 13 mini – 2,405mAh (8% increase)
iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro – 3,095mAh (9.9% increase)
iPhone 13 Pro Max – 4,352mAh (18% increase)
Mind you, these all remain unconfirmed for now, although this wouldn’t the be first time that rumours of bigger batteries in the iPhone 13 lineup appeared. Furthermore, L0vetodream has a pretty good track record when it comes to Apple leaks too, scoring a 88% accuracy, according to AppleTrack.
