Oppo Malaysia introduces the A74 4G, available from as low as RM799

Barely a month after introducing the Oppo A74 5G, Oppo Malaysia has announced the 4G version which costs RM200 cheaper. Besides the lack of 5G support, the hardware of the A74 4G is actually quite different and you can get an additional RM100 discount during its first-day flash sale. Interestingly, Oppo Malaysia describes it as the most reliable smartphone under RM900 but without sharing much details about its reliability.

Pricing and availability

The Oppo A74 4G with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is officially priced at RM899. The first sale is happening on 20th May and you can get it in either Midnight Blue or Prism Black.

As a first day sale promo, Oppo is offering the Oppo Enco W11 (worth RM159) and a RM20 Lazada voucher for free on its official Oppo store on Lazada while stocks last. There’s also a PWP promo where you can get the Oppo Enco Buds (RRP: RM159) at 50% off.

If you just want the phone without additional freebies, the Oppo A74 4G can be yours for only RM799 during a flash sale on TechMall via Lazada which is also happening on the 20th of May. That’s RM100 off from the official retail price.

Hardware Specs

Unlike the 5G version, the Oppo A74 4G features a smaller 6.43″ display. While it lacks a fluid 90Hz refresh rate, the 4G version uses an 60Hz AMOLED panel that comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead of a Snapdragon 480 5G chip, the device runs on a Snapdragon 662 processor. It still gets 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage which is also expandable.

In the camera department, the A74 4G gets triple-camera setup which is one camera less than the 5G version. It consists of a 48MP main camera, 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth camera. For selfies, the punch-hole houses a 16MP front camera,

The A74 4G is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery and it supports 33W Flash Charge via USB-C. According to Oppo, it can push a 54% charge in just 30 minutes and a full charge takes 72 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 skin on top.
