Malaysia has recorded 4,446 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 474,556. There are 45 new deaths reported which is a new record high and the death toll is now 1,947. A total of 247 COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the last 7 days which is an average of 35.2 deaths per day.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,784 new recoveries and a total of 429,103 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.42% while the mortality rate is at 0.41%.
There are currently 43,506 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 522 are in ICU while 273 require respiratory support.
Out of the 4,446 new cases today, 3 are imported while 4,443 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,650 cases, followed by Sarawak with 433 cases, Johor with 391 cases and Kelantan with 343 cases. Labuan and Perlis recorded zero cases today.
