Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today announced that all Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars in movement control (MCO) areas will be closed effective Monday.
In a statement this evening, Ismail further said that any premises including bazaars and shopping malls listed under the HIDE system will be shut for three days with immediate effect.
HIDE refers to the Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE).
A HIDE list released earlier today indicated two Ramadan bazaars as potential hotspots today, namely the one in Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur; and Precinct 3, Putrajaya.
Ismail said authorities will continue to use the HIDE system whereby a locality will be placed under MCO depending on the number of cases.
“Premises including shopping malls listed under the HIDE system will be under lockdown immediately for three days,” he said adding that enforcement of COVID-19 standard operating procedures will be carried out by the police army and local councils.
Meanwhile, Ismail said the ban on interstate travel remains in force until June 6. Those who wish to travel would need police permission to do so.
While for those who cross districts for work purposes will not need police approval and only need to show their employer’s approval letter.
Other activities not allowed are social activities, education and economic activities that could attract public gatherings.
“However, this decision will be reviewed in two weeks,” he said.
For sports and recreational activities, Ismail said sports activities in open areas are allowed, with 1.5m physical distancing. — Malay Mail
