COVID-19: 3,551 new cases and 19 death today, total active cases jump to 33,762

Malaysia has recorded 3,551 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 427,927. There are 19 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,610.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,709 new recoveries and a total of 392,555 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 91.7% while the mortality rate is at 0.38%

There are currently 33,762 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 354 are in ICU while 199 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,551 new cases today, 3,535 are imported while 16 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,137 new COVID-19 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 477 cases and Sarawak with 391 cases.
