SoyaCincau.com is looking for Senior News Writers for our English technology desk to cover the latest development in technology and its impact on modern lives. They are expected to deliver detailed, well-researched news, reports, and analysis on the matter. A part of their responsibilities will be driving audience growth and exploring other content avenues related to technology and beyond.

They must posses an inquisitive, curious and informed mindset, be innovative and strive in a high output culture through innovation.

Whether it’s comparing smartphone cameras or laptop keyboards, or paying attention to privacy policy, they must be meticulous in hunting down the facts of a story, advocate ethical journalism and writing.

The team at SoyaCincau.com is diverse, inclusive, transparent and vibrant. Hence, we’re looking for someone with great interpersonal and communication skills who can work well with all kinds of people. People with great organisational skills, superior attention to detail, and punctuality will excel in the role.

At the same time, you will be working closely with our content leads and editors to identify original content ideas that help keep our readers informed.

Senior News Writer, Technology

Responsibilities

• Developing your area of speciality in technology story reporting with coverage from news to larger reports and analysis. Daily news writing is a must
• Working across our teams to find stories at the intersection of technology and culture
• Establish your area of speciality and lead conversations: become the go-to reporter for your beat
• Proactively pitch news and analysis, and help vet stories
• Hold our content to a high standard of quality, creativity and integrity

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the technology landscape (consumer tech, industrial tech, automotive, fintech, applications and beyond)
• 3+ years of journalism experience, particularly in reviewing and recommending consumer technology products
• Strong writing skills, including the ability to identify compelling angles and develop them effectively
• Strong knowledge in SEO best practices and strategy
