COVID-19: 1,285 new cases today, Selangor recorded the most with 374 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,285 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 355,753. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,308.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,175 new recoveries and a total of 340,242 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.64% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 14,203 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 186 are in ICU while 81 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,285 new cases today, 17 are imported while 1,268 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most today with 374 new cases, followed by Sarawak with 211 cases, Pulau Pinang with 162 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 120 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 4 new clusters today. This include Jalan Taming cluster in Selangor, Industri Parit Raja cluster in Johor, Perusahaan Perai Tiga cluster in Pulau Pinang and Padang Manggis cluster in Pahang.

A total of 47 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Jalan Harapan prison cluster recorded the most with 89 cases, followed by Perusahaan Perai Tiga cluster with 60 cases and the newly identified Industri Parit Raja cluster with 38 cases.
