Air Selangor: Water disruption up to 68 hours in the Klang Valley due to planned maintenance works

Air Selangor has announced two scheduled maintenance works which will cause water disruption in the Klang Valley. The maintenance works have been approved by Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN).

30 March – 1 April 2021

Transfer and connection works for new pipes will be carried out near the Carlsberg factory at Persiaran Selangor Seksyen 15 in Shah Alam. This would cause a scheduled water supply disruption for 48 hours. The actual works will be done on 30th March 2021 from 9am to 9pm and it will cause water supply disruptions at 5 areas in the Petaling region, 14 areas in the Klang region and 11 areas in the Shah Alam region starting from 9am on 30th March 2021. Water supply is expected to be restored fully at 9am on 1st April 2021.

Below is the list of affected areas and expected time of full recovery:

6 April – 9 April 2021

Air Selangor has a scheduled valve replacement for the raw water pipelie from the Klang gates dam which will be implemented on 6 April 2021 from 9am to 9pm. It will cause a 68-hour water supply disruption at 12 areas in Gombak region and 46 areas in the Kuala Lumpur region starting from 9am on 6th April 2021. Full water supply is expected to be restored at 5am on 9th April 2021.

Below is the list of affected areas and expected time of full recovery:

Air Selangor recommends all affected customers to store adequate water supply and use water prudently during the scheduled water disruption period. In addition, the water works company has also given a heads up on its next maintenance works which include Cheras Batu 11 Water Treatment Plant on 15th June 2021, Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant on 6th July 2021 and Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant on 5th October 2021. These scheduled works are still subject to approval from SPAN.

Air Selangor said these scheduled works are carried out to ensure that the main assets and water supply distribution system is at a good level. These improvement works are part of Air Selangor’s efforts in improving the best service quality for the convenience of customers in the future.
