Xiaomi Malaysia has officially unveiled the Poco X3 Pro. Like the name suggests, this is an upgraded version of the popular Poco X3 NFC which was launched last year.
The Poco X3 Pro comes in two variants which offer different RAM and storage options. Below is the official Malaysian pricing:
Poco X3 Pro
6GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM999
8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM1,299
Compared to the Poco X3 NFC, the Pro costs merely RM100-200 extra but it offers a much higher spec processor. The attractive pricing also overlaps with the Redmi Note 10 Pro series which is priced around RM999-1,099.
The Poco X3 Pro can be yours with up to RM200 off when you buy it during the first day sale on 24th March 2021 via Shopee. For one day only, the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model can be yours for RM899 while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version is going for RM1,099. The device comes in 3 colours – Phantom Black, Frost Blue and Metal Bronze.
In terms of design, it looks identical to the Poco X3 NFC but the Pro model gets a semi-matte finish for the rear panel. Upfront, you’ll get a familiar 6.67″ Full HD+ LCD display that pushes 120Hz refresh rate along with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also gets Gorilla Glass 6 protection.
Despite looking like a typical mid-range smartphone, the Poco X3 Pro is powered by a new flagship-class 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor. The new chip uses four Kryo 485 cores and it looks like an updated version of the Snapdragon 855+. The X3 Pro can be configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. If you need more, it still accepts microSD card expansion.
In the camera department, the device still features the same iconic camera bump like the X3 NFC which houses a quad-camera setup. However, the main camera now gets a 48MP f/1.79 main camera with a 1/2.0″ sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, 2MP f/2.4 macro camera and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. For selfies, there’s a punch-hole on the screen for a 20MP front camera.
The Poco X3 Pro still offers stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio certification, a 3.5mm headphone jack. NFC, IR blaster and Bluetooth 5.0. The device also gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and you can also unlock instantly with face unlock.
Powering the device is a large 5,160mAh battery which charges via USB-C. Also included is a 33W fast charger in the box. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 for Poco skin on top.
If you’re looking for something more powerful with a better AMOLED screen, the Poco F3 5G is also announced this evening. You can get it from as low as RM1,299 during its first day sale.
