COVID-19: New cases fall to 1,116 today, only 3 states record over 100 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,116 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 334,156. There are 5 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,238.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,495 new recoveries and a total of 318,784 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.40% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 14,134 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 156 are in ICU while 60 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,116 new cases today, 8 are imported while 1,108 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 403 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 158 cases, Sarawak with 124 cases and Pulau Pinang with 88 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 10 new clusters and 8 are workplace related. Below is the list of newly identified clusters today:

A total of 64 clusters have recorded a new cases today. The Jalan Usahawan construction site and Tanjung Suria clusters recorded the most with 70 cases each, followed by Jalan Harapan prison cluster with 55 new cases.
