COVID-19: Malaysia continues to record over 1,200 cases, total active cases now below 15,000

Malaysia has recorded 1,213 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 328,466. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,223.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,503 new recoveries and a total of 312,461 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.13% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 14,782 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 155 are in ICU while 54 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,213 new cases today, 6 are imported while 1,207 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 353 cases, followed by Sarawak with 303 cases, Johor with 142 cases and Penang with 104 cases. There are no new cases reported in both Putrajaya and Perlis.
