Netflix has introduced a new mid-tier subscription for those who wish to enjoy higher-quality video streaming on their mobile device. The Mobile+ plan option has appeared on Netflix website when you try to sign up via a mobile browser.

Unlike the previous Netflix Mobile plan which offers 480p streaming at RM17/month, the Mobile+ option which costs RM25/month lets you stream at Full HD 1080p resolution. It’s also limited to phone and tablet, but the Mobile+ also allows you to stream via a desktop computer.

However, you still can’t use this subscription on the TV or through Google Cast. If you want to enjoy Full HD quality on the TV, you’ll have to pay RM20 extra to get the standard plan which costs RM45/month. If you’re ok with lower 480p quality, the Basic Plan which costs RM35/month allows you to stream on phone, tablet, computer and TV.

For the ultimate experience, the Premium plan which offers 4K HDR streaming on all devices costs RM55/month. The Premium plan allows you to watch on 4 different devices at the same time while Standard offers 2 simultaneous streams. The lower Basic, Mobile+ and Mobile is limited to 1 stream at a time.

If you’re interested, you can check out Netflix on your mobile web browser. According to the fine print, these plans are offered as part of their test. The Mobile plan was also initially offered as a test in Malaysia in 2018 before it became official in 2019.

Thanks @KevinNgTK for the tip!
