The Reno 5 Marvel Edition is Oppo’s latest Avengers themed smartphone

Almost two years after the release of the Oppo F11 Avengers Limited Edition phone, Oppo has just introduced the new Reno 5 Marvel Edition. It’s essentially an Oppo Reno 5 with an Avengers-themed exterior and it’s currently offered in Indonesia.

The Oppo Reno 5 Marvel Edition comes in a dark grey body with silver and red highlights. You also get a neat box which comes with Avengers-themed wired earphones, fast charger and even a SIM-ejector tool. Also included is a red case with “MARVEL” printed on the back.

In Indonesia, the Marvel Edition phone is priced at IDR 5,700,000 (about RM1,627) and you’ll need an exclusive code in order to purchase it. The codes will be distributed through selected Indonesian media and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) via Instagram. As a comparison, the standard Reno 5 is priced at IDR 4,999,000 (about RM1,426.50).

In terms of specs, the hardware appears to remain unchanged and it comes with a 6.4″ Full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED display. Under the hood, the Indonesian version runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G which doesn’t support 5G. The device is listed with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The rear of the device gets a quad-camera setup that consists of a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two 2MP cameras for depth and macro. Meanwhile, the front features a 44MP selfie shooter. Powering the Reno 5 is a 4,310mAh battery which supports 50W VOOC Flash Charging.

As a comparison, the Oppo Reno 5 in Malaysia supports 5G and it is priced higher at RM1,899. It runs on a Snapdragon 765G processor and it supports a higher 65W Super VOOC Flash Charging. You can find out what we think about the device in our hands-on post.
