COVID-19: 1,529 new cases today, lowest number of daily cases recorded in 2021

Malaysia has recorded 1,529 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 314,989. There are 8 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,177.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,076 new recoveries and a total of 294,034 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 93.35% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 19,778 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 160 are in ICU while 79 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,529 new cases reported today, 9 are imported while 1,520 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 726 cases, followed by Sarawak with 252 cases, Johor with 120 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 89 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 4 new clusters today. This include Cyber 72 cluster in Johor, Jalan i-Park Tiga cluster in Johor, Jalan Loke Yew cluster in Kuala Lumpur and Bukit Bayas cluster in Terengganu.

A total of 62 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Industri Sungai Gadut cluster recorded the most with 51 cases, followed by Industri Subang cluster with 36 cases and Kebun Baru cluster with 22 new cases.
