You can use Touch ‘n Go PayDirect to pay parking at Gurney Paragon Mall

Touch ‘n Go has announced that Gurney Paragon Mall is the first mall in Penang to offer PayDirect Parking. This allows Touch ‘n Go users to pay their parking fee directly from their eWallet when they tap their physical TNG card. This eliminates the need to physically top up the card as users can seamlessly reload their eWallet through online banking and payment cards.

As an introductory offer, users can enjoy 20% cashback (capped at RM1) from 1st March to 30th April 2021 when they use the Touch ‘n Go PayDirect Parking feature at Gurney Paragon Mall. Each user is only limited to 1 cashback throughout the promotion period and it is limited to the first 10,000 redemptions.

Khor Tze Ming, Group Executive Director of Hunza Properties Berhad said, “Following the introduction of our carpark’s cashless and ticketless parking on 15 September 2020, we are pleased to work closely with Touch ‘n Go to roll out this PayDirect enabled parking convenience for our shoppers. This means our patrons will no longer need to hunt for Touch ‘n Go kiosk to reload their card to pay for their parking fee. This will also lead to less congestion at the entrance and exit especially during busy days or nearing mall closing hours. With the Touch ‘n Go PayDirect method of payment, this unwanted and time-consuming step is taken away.”

To enable PayDirect, users will need to add their Touch ‘n Go card in the eWallet app. Just launch the app, tap on “TNG Card” on the home screen and click “Add a New card”. To use the feature, just tap the same Touch ‘n Go card normally at the entry and exit points at the supported carpark, and the amount will be deducted from your eWallet.

The PayDirect feature was first introduced for toll payments in 2018. For greater convenience, users can also enable auto-reload to ensure that the eWallet will always have sufficient balance at all times.

For RFID users, do take note that PayDirect only works when you use the physical card at Touch ‘n Go and SmartTAG (with a SmartTAG device) lanes. It won’t work in the RFID toll lane as the RFID only deducts from the eWallet.

Apart from Gurney Paragon Mall in Penang, Touch ‘n Go’s PayDirect Parking feature is also available at the following locations in the Klang Valley:

  1. Tempat Letak Kereta Awam, Kompleks C, Putrajaya
  2. Republik Damansara Heights
  3. Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya
  4. Vortex KLCC
  5. The Curve, Mutiara Damansara

In case you missed it, Touch ‘n Go will soon allow users to top up their physical card via the eWallet app by end of this year. However, this feature will require a different TNG card.

A year ago, Touch ‘n Go has also announced plans to introduce RFID parking and RFID refuelling in 2020. However, it appears that the plans are currently put on hold due to the current movement control order situation.
