COVID-19: 1,828 new cases today, Johor records the most with 490 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,828 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 302,580. There are 5 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,135.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,486 new recoveries and a total of 275,903 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 91.18% while the mortality rate is at 0.38%.

There are currently 25,542 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 198 are in ICU while 90 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,828 new cases today, 7 are imported while 1,821 are transmitted locally. Johor recorded the most today with 490 cases, followed by Selangor with 453 cases, Sarawak with 220 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 167 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 7 new clusters identified today and 5 are workplace related. Below is the list of new clusters in the country:

A total of 82 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Jalan Kempas Tiga cluster recorded the most with 334 cases, followed by Industri Sungai Gadut cluster with 128 cases and Tembok Tapah cluster with 80 cases.
