COVID-19: New cases jump to 3,545 today, 1,392 reported in Negeri Sembilan

Malaysia has recorded 3,545 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 291,774. There are 12 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,088.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,331 new recoveries and a total of 260,009 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 89.11% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 30,667 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 189 are in ICU while 88 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,545 new cases today, 1 is imported while 3,544 are transmitted locally. Negeri Sembilan reported the most with 1,392 new cases, followed by Selangor with 581 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 381 cases and Sarawak with 353 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters today and 7 are workplace related. Below is the full list of newly identified clusters:

A total of 78 clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Sungai Gadut cluster in Negeri Sembilan recorded the most with 1,338 cases, followed by the Jalan Segambut construction site cluster with 174 new cases and Jalan Pelabuhan cluster with 164 cases.
