MCO: Dine-in allowed up to max capacity per table, 2 people per car limit lifted from 19 Feb

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced the relaxation of restrictions for both dine-in and passenger limit per vehicle. The new ruling is applicable for areas under the MCO, CMCO and RMCO, and it will take into effect from tomorrow, 19th February 2021.

Dine-in for restaurants

The current two people per table limit for dine-in will be lifted from tomorrow. Restaurants and eateries are allowed to accept more diners according to the size of the table and must ensure there’s physical distancing of at least 1 meter between tables.

Passenger limit for vehicles

The current two passenger for car limit is also lifted from tomorrow. You are allowed to carry more passengers up to the permitted seating capacity of the vehicle. While the 10km radius restriction has been lifted, do note that interdistrict and interstate travel are still prohibited.

To recap, the MCO has been extended for Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and Penang until 4th March 2021. Meanwhile, the states and territories of Sabah, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Kelantan, Perak, Melaka, Kedah, Labuan and Putrajaya will be placed under CMCO from 19th February 2021. Perlis has been placed under RMCO starting today, while Sarawak is still under CMCO.
