COVID-19: 3,499 new cases and 5 deaths today, 1,345 cases in Selangor and 802 in Johor

Malaysia has recorded 3,499 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 261,805. There are 5 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 958.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,515 new recoveries and a total of 209,289 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 79.9% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 51,558 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 263 are in ICU while 118 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,499 new cases today, 1 is imported while 3,498 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,345 cases, followed by Johor with 802 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 511 cases and Sarawak with 152 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 10 new clusters today and 9 are workplace related. Below is the full list of new identified clusters:

A total of 85 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Sungai Putus cluster recorded the most with 271 new cases, followed by Persiaran Synergi Utama cluster with 219 cases and Lorong Peel construction site cluster with 187 cases.
