MCO 2.0: Dine-in allowed at restaurants from 10 February, max 2 per table

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that restaurants will be allowed to accept dine-in customers starting tomorrow, 10th February 2021. There’s also a maximum limit of 2 customers per table.

As usual, all restaurant and eateries must strictly adhere to the SOPs. This include social distancing of at least 1 metre and to ensure all customers have registered or check-in themselves for contact tracing purposes. Operators must also limit the number of customers at any given time and to ensure crowd control at entry and exit points.

Prior to this, restaurants and eateries are only allowed to open for takeaway, delivery and drive-thru orders during MCO 2.0. At the moment, restaurants are allowed to operate until 10pm daily.

Apart from lifting dine-in restrictions, the National Security Council has also agreed to allow the remaining retail businesses to reopen.

In case you missed it, the CNY SOP has been revised to allow reunion dinners at home up to 15 family members who are staying within a 10km radius. During the movement control order, interdistrict and interstate travel are strictly not allowed.
