COVID-19: Record high 24 deaths today, new daily cases drop to 3,100

Malaysia has recorded 3,100 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 245,552. There are 24 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 896.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,340 new recoveries and a total of 192,679 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.5% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 51,977 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 282 are in ICU while 134 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,100 new cases today, 1 is imported while 3,099 are transmitted locally. Selangor records the most with 1,196 cases, followed by Johor with 490 cases, Melaka with 344 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 295 cases.
