Malaysia has recorded 4,571 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 231,483. There are 17 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 826.
The Ministry of Health has reported 4,092 new recoveries and a total of 181,886 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.6% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.
There are currently 48,771 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 308 are in ICU while 135 require respiratory support.
Out of the 4,571 new cases today, 3 are imported while 4,568 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,056 new cases, followed by Johor with 664 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 481 cases and Sarawak with 270 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 10 new clusters and 6 are workplace related. Below is the full list:
A total of 90 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Persiaran Perkilangan cluster recorded the most with 362 cases, followed by Industri Serkam cluster with 201 cases and Jalan Perindustrian cluster with 150 cases.
