Malaysia has recorded 4,275 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 180,455. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 667.
The Ministry of Health has reported 4,313 new recoveries and a total of 137,019 patients have recovered and discharged so far. Today Malaysia has set two new records – the highest number of new COVID-19 cases and new recoveries in a single day. The recovery rate is now 75.9% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.
There are currently 42,769 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 260 are in ICU while 103 require respiratory support.
Out of the 4,275 new cases today, 11 are imported while 4,264 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,421 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 548 cases, Sabah with 498 cases and Johor with 425 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 11 new clusters and 8 are workplace related. Below is the full list of new clusters:
A total of 84 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The newly identified Bali Residence construction site cluster in Melaka reported the most with 203 cases, followed by Pasar cluster with 132 cases and Beringin cluster with 74 cases.
