Malaysia has recorded 3,631 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 176,180. There are 18 new deaths reported which is a new record high and the death toll is now 660. Malaysia has been reporting over 3,000 new cases daily for 9 consecutive days.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,554 new recoveries and a total of 132,706 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 75.3% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.
There are currently 42,814 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 251 are in ICU while 102 require respiratory support.
Out of the 3,631 new cases today, 6 are imported while 3,625 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 782 cases, followed by Johor with 466 cases, Sabah with 453 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 435 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 12 new clusters today and 7 are workplace related. Below is the full list of new clusters:
A total of 86 clusters have reported new cases today. The Pasai cluster in Sarawak recorded the most with 112 new cases, followed by Muda construction site cluster with 93 cases and Seri Bayu cluster with 81 cases.
