COVID-19: 2,985 new cases reported today, active cases now over 32,000

Malaysia has recorded 2,985 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 144,518. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 563.

The Ministry of Health has reported 994 new recoveries and a total of 111,578 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77.2% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.

There are currently 32,377 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 197 are in ICU while 79 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,985 new cases today, 2 are imported while 2,983 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 837 cases, followed by Johor with 535 cases, Sabah with 450 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 289 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 11 new clusters today. This include Taman Integrasi cluster in Selangor, Jalan Ijuk cluster in Selangor, Jalan Rami cluster in Johor, Kota cluster in Johor, Tanjung Megah cluster in Johor, Jalan Kasturi cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Thamby cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Taman Batik cluster in Kedah, Bukit Bakar cluster in Kelantan, Kampung Tengah cluster in Negeri Sembilan and Dialisis Malim cluster in Melaka.

A total of 71 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Tembok Choh cluster recorded the most with 161 new cases, followed by Tembok Mempaga cluster with 110 cases and the newly identified Jalan Rami cluster with 109 new cases.
