Following the release of its Mi 11 flagship smartphone, Xiaomi will soon unveil the Redmi K40 which will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 888 processor. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi K40 series will be introduced next month with an affordable price tag.
According to the teaser, the K40 series will be priced from CNY 2,999 which is about RM1,872 if converted directly. As a comparison, the Mi 11 starts from CNY 3,999 (about RM2,496) for the base model with 8GB RAM + 128GB of storage.
The Weibo post also indicated that the device would probably feature the most premium flat screen display along with a battery capacity that’s more than 4,000mAh. We expect Xiaomi to reveal more details to the coming weeks ahead of the China launch.
If the K40 Pro is offered internationally, it could be sold under the Xiaomi or Poco branding. The previous Redmi flagship, the K30 Pro, was introduced as the Poco F2 Pro in global markets. In the previous year, the Redmi K20 Pro was released globally as the Xiaomi Mi 9T.
