Boost eWallet now lets you buy Google Play Store codes, here’s how

Malaysian eWallet player Boost (iOS, Android, Huawei AppGallery) is now offering its users the convenience of purchasing Google Play Store codes from within the app. This method will prove useful for users who want to enjoy entertainment and games on the Google Play Store without needing to register a debit or credit card to a Google Play account.

To purchase the codes with Boost, you need to tap on the ‘Do More‘ tab. Next select the ‘Games‘ tile and tap on ‘Game Credits‘.

Under ‘Game Credits’, you will find the option to buy various code values ranging from RM10, RM20, RM50, RM100 and RM200. Once you have selected the value you want, just hit the ‘Purchase Now’ button.

Alternatively, you can also gift the code to someone else. Just enter their mobile number or pull it from your address book and enter a personalised message.

After you’ve obtained the code from Boost, go to the Google Play Store to redeem it. Click on the three lines on the left side of the Google Play search bar. You will then see a pull out menu from which you have to select ‘Payment methods‘.

Once you have done so, select ‘Redeem code‘ and paste the code you bought from Boost. You can then utilise your credit to buy new apps as well as movies, books and game credit.

Boost said the new offering was made possible by its partnership with InComm Payments, a global payment technology company. The company also manages Google’s physical and digital gift cards and codes.

Besides Google Play, Boost also boasts a variety of entertainment, games and lifestyle offerings users can indulge in directly from the app. These include subscription packages for Spotify and Viu, as well as gaming credits for Garena and Steam.

The new offering is part of the company’s #BoostGotYou campaign ‘Stay at Home’ edition where the eWallet player encourages Malaysians to stay entertained with games and streaming content.
