Rapid KL My30 Plus 30 limited to first 8,333 users only

To boost domestic tourism, Prasarana has announced the ‘My30 Plus 30‘ campaign where commuters can enjoy a Buy 1 Free 1 offer for the My30 unlimited ride pass. The campaign will start tomorrow, the 21st of December 2020.

As reported previously, users can purchase the pass at all customer service counters at LRT, MRT, KL Monorail and BRT stations, as well as 8 selected bus hubs at Pasar Seni, KLCC, Section 2 Shah Alam, Greenwood, Sri Nilam, Sunway Pyramid, Pearl Point and Puchong Utama.

However, to redeem the free My30 monthly pass, you can only do so at the following locations:

  • LRT KL Sentral (East Wing) Customer Service Counter
    Operation hours: 6.30am-2.30pm, 3.30pm-10.30pm
  • Pasar Seni Bus Hub
    Operation hours: 7.00am-7.00pm

Rapid KL has published more details for the Buy 1 Free 1 promo and turns out that the offer is limited to the first 8,333 redemptions on a first come, first served basis. The campaign will run from 21st December 2020 to 31st March 2021 but the redemption period will start from 15th January to 31st March 2021.

To get started, you’ll need to purchase a My30 pass at participating customer service counters and then scan the QR code which leads to this link. After you’ve submitted your details, you’ll receive a voucher code which is required for the free My30 redemption.

According to the T&C, customers will need to present a printed copy of the email which includes the unique voucher code for the Free My30 pass redemption. Each user can only redeem once throughout the campaign period.

What’s interesting is that you can choose to set the first date of your pass during the redemption. There’s also the option to leave it open and it will start upon the first tap at the rail gate or bus reader. However, do note that your Free My30 pass voucher must be activated within 30 days or it will automatically expire and no refund will be given. The free My30 pass is not transferable or exchangeable for cash or credit.

Existing My30 users who have activated the auto-renew must first deactivate the feature at any Rapid KL customer service counter or bus hubs in order to participate in the Buy 1 Free 1 campaign.

The My30 pass which costs RM30/month provides unlimited rides on LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL’s bus and MRT feeder bus service in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. It is only offered to Malaysian citizens with a valid MyKad or MyTentera. The My30 pass was supposed to end on 31st December 2020 but according to Rapid KL’s Facebook page, it will be extended to 2021. Rapid KL will make an official announcement on the extension soon.
