Xiaomi Malaysia has officially introduced the Mi Watch Lite and this is their most affordable smartwatch that comes with built-in GPS, heart rate and sleep monitoring and it is rated to last more than a week on a single charge. For one day only, you can get the watch for less than RM200 on preorder.
The Mi Watch Lite is officially priced at RM249 in Malaysia. It will be available on the official Xiaomi online store on Lazada as well as authorised Mi Stores and retailers from the 20th of December.
Xiaomi is also offering a one-day only pre-order promo where you can pick up the Mi Watch Lite for only RM199. This offer is only available via the Xiaomi online store on Lazada on the 17th of December 2020.
The Mi Watch Lite packs a 1.4″ TFT LCD touch-screen display that pushes a resolution of 320×320 pixels. Despite being a budget wearable device, it still has a built-in heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyro, light sensor, e-compass, barometer and GPS. According to Xiaomi, it can monitor up to 11 sports modes which also include swim tracking.
Apart from 24-hour heart rate monitoring, the Mi Watch Lite also has a sleep monitoring feature which provides an analysis of your different stages of sleep. In terms of water resistance, it is listed with a rating of 5ATM. On paper, this means it can be submerged up to 50 metres deep.
In terms of design, it has a squarish case like the Mi Watch but it only comes with a single physical button on the right. The watch comes in 5 colours – Black, Navy Blue, Pink, Olive and Ivory, and the straps are replaceable.
The 230mAh battery is rated to provide up to 9 days of battery life or up to 10 hours with continuous GPS usage. A full charge with the pogo pin charging dock will take 2 hours. The watch connects via Bluetooth BLE 5.1 and it requires the Xiaomi Wear App.
For the features it packs, this is quite an affordable smartwatch priced under RM300. The Mi Watch Lite could be something worth considering if you’re looking for something that’s slightly better than the Mi Smart Band 5. For more info, you can check out the global product page.
If you’re looking for another option, Xiaomi is expected to release the Mi Watch in Malaysia very soon which comes with a circular 1.39″ AMOLED display. Unfortunately, there’s no pricing info at the moment and it is supposed to be available in December 2020.
