Malaysia has recorded 1,810 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 80,309. There are 6 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 402.
The Ministry of Health has reported 937 new recoveries and a total of 67,173 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 83.6% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.
There are currently 12,734 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 123 are in ICU while 63 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,810 new COVID-19 cases today, 11 are imported while 1,799 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 829 cases, followed by 532 cases in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur with 132 cases, Pahang with 96 cases and Johor with 69 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 6 new clusters today. This include Sungai Putus cluster and Erima cluster in Selangor, Jalan Berangan construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Langkasuka cluster in Johor, Jalan College cluster in Negeri Sembilan and Sungai Keluang cluster in Penang.
A total of 48 active clusters have reported new COVID-19 cases today. The newly identified Sungai Putus cluster recorded the most with 369 cases, followed by Rumah Merah cluster with 150 cases and D’Bajaru cluster with 133 cases.
