COVID-19: New cases drop to 1,012, over 50% reported in the Klang Valley

Malaysia has recorded 1,012 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 75,306. There are 4 new deaths reported in Sabah and the death toll is now 388.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,750 new recoveries and a total of 64,056 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.1% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.

There are currently 10,862 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 126 are in ICU while 62 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,012 new cases today, 7 are imported while 1,005 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 417 cases, followed by Sabah with 271 cases, Johor with 108 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 98.

The Ministry of Health has identified 2 new clusters which are located in the Klang Valley. This include Seruling cluster in Selangor and Darul construction site cluster which covers Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

A total of 41 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Teratai cluster which is linked to Top Glove recorded the most with 78 new cases, followed by Batu Tujuh cluster with 52 new cases and Ria-30 cluster with 33 new cases.
