Malaysia has recorded 1,123 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 71,359. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 380.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,143 new recoveries and a total of 60,204 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 84.4% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.
There are currently 10,775 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 130 are in ICU while 54 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,123 new COVID-19 cases today, 5 are imported while 1,118 are transmitted locally. Sabah records the most with 391 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 265 cases, Selangor with 221 cases, Johor with 66 cases and Penang with 44 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 4 new clusters today. This include Batu Tiga and Jalan Domis clusters in Sabah, Andalas cluster in Selangor and Bulatan construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur. A total of 49 active clusters have reported new COVID-19 cases today. The Bulatan cluster recorded the most with 162 cases, followed by Ria-30 cluster with 51 cases and Batu Tujuh cluster with 39 cases.
As announced this evening, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor has been extended by two weeks until 20th December. However, CMCO will end for selected areas and states on 6th December.
