Realme Malaysia has officially introduced its Smart TV that runs on Google’s Android TV operating system. The Smart TVs are available in two sizes – 43″ and 32″, but there are not specific availability details just yet.
The Realme Smart TV 43″ is officially priced at RM1,499, while the smaller 32″ version is priced at RM899. If you’re interested to get one, both TVs are still listed as coming soon during the Realme AIoT event. From the looks of it, it will be released after the 12.12 sale.
The Realme TVs are using a bezel-less Ultra Bright LED Display that boasts a Chroma Boost engine. The larger 43″ version pushes a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, while the 32″ variant does a lower HD resolution of 1366×768. Under the panel, both are powered by MediaTek 64-bit Quad-core processor with ARM Cortex A53 and a Mali-470 MP3 GPU.
The TVs use a 24W quad-speaker setup that consists of a pair of full range speaker and tweeter combo that are enhanced with Dolby Atmos. Since this is an Android TV device, you can install various apps from the TV’s Google Play Store.
There’s also Google Assistant and Google Cast, which allows you to push content to the big screen from your mobile device. The Realme TV comes with a smart remote with dedicated buttons for Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube.
In terms of connectivity, it supports 2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. The back panel comes with 3x HDMI ports, 2x USB ports, 1x AV port, 1x Digital Audio out, 1x Antenna and 1x LAN port.
For RM1,499, it is quite expensive for a Full HD Smart TV and you could easily find a larger 4K TV for the same price range during the online mega sales. Meanwhile, the biggest drawback for the 32″ TV is its lower HD resolution. If you search online, you get a 40-42″ Full HD TV for less than RM1,000.
The key highlight for these Smart TVs is that Android TV is integrated in a single product. Another cheaper alternative is to buy a TV of your own choice and you can plug-in a Xiaomi Mi TV Stick which also runs on Android TV.
