Malaysia has recorded 1,309 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 64,485. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 357.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,333 new recoveries and a total of 52,647 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.6% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.
There are currently 11,481 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 116 are in ICU while 42 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,315 new cases today, 5 are imported while 1,310 are transmitted locally. Kuala Lumpur recorded the most with 493 new cases, with 367 reported from the Awan Baru construction site cluster. This is followed by Sabah with 290 cases, Selangor with 238 cases, Perak with 77 cases and Kedah with 52 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 4 new clusters today. This include Sungai Mulia construction site in Kuala Lumpur, Batu Lima cluster in Sabah, Yayasan cluster in Selangor and Hilir cluster in Kelantan.
A total of 49 active clusters have reported new COVID-19 cases today. The earlier mentioned Awan Baru construction site cluster has the most with 367 cases, followed by Bintang cluster with 76 cases and Bayam Indah cluster with 52 cases.
