COVID-19: New cases drop to 935 today, total cases in Malaysia now over 60,000

Malaysia has recorded 935 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 60,752. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 348.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,555 new recoveries and a total of 49,056 patients have recovered and discharged so far. This is a highest number of recoveries reported in a single day. The recovery rate is now 80.7% while the mortality rate is now 0.57%.

There are currently 11,348 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 110 are in ICU while 45 require respiratory support.

Out of the 935 new COVID-19 cases today, 4 are imported while 931 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 326 cases, followed by Selangor with 161 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 158 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 6 new clusters today. This include Bot Biru and Blok 31 clusters in Sabah, Gemilang cluster in Johor, Sungai Udang construction site in Kuala Lumpur, Chengal cluster in Kelantan and Damar Laut cluster in Pulau Pinang.
