Malaysia has recorded 1,290 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 51,680. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 326.
The Ministry of Health has reported 878 new recoveries and a total of 38,092 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 73.7% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.
There are currently 13,222 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 110 are in ICU while 37 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,290 new cases today, 5 are imported while 1,285 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 660 new cases, followed by Selangor with 407 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 72 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 32 cases.
According to the Ministry, there are 4 new clusters identified today. This include Kapas BJ cluster in Selangor which recorded 55 new cases today, Prestij cluster in Kuala Lumpur which has 15 new cases today, Bah Bercham cluster in Perak with 2 new cases today and Kiambang cluster in Johor which has 8 new cases today.
A total of 54 clusters have reported new cases today. The Teratai cluster recorded the most with 245 cases, followed by Sandakan prison cluster with 215 cases and Kapas BJ cluster with 55 cases.
