Kelantan issues green wristband for officials, VIPs arriving from red zones, no quarantine required

Kelantan state government has announced that it is introducing green and pink wristbands for all individuals entering the state. State Local Government, Housing and Health Committee Chairman Dr Izani Husin said all visitors from red zones are required to take a COVID-19 swab test, wear a pink wristband and undergo a mandatory home quarantine for 14 days.

He said those returning to Kelantan for balik kampung must be quarantined for 14 days. Those that fail to comply by going out during the quarantine period will be issued a RM1,000 fine.

However, those entering the state for official government matters will be issued a green wristband. For example, government officials and VIPs that need to attend a meeting in Kelantan must first take a swab test and they are only permitted to attend the meeting. Green wristband holders are not allowed to visit other locations.

Once their duties are completed, the wristband will be cut when they leave the state. They won’t need to undergo quarantine if they are not showing any symptoms. It is reported that the wristbands for officers and VIPs will be issued via four entry points and at the airport.

At the moment, the entire Peninsular Malaysia is currently placed under Conditional Movement Control Order until 6th December 2020 except for Kelantan, Perlis and Pahang. As of yesterday, Kelantan has 7 green zones and 3 yellow zones.
