COVID-19: 865 new cases today, 643 reported in Sabah

Malaysia has recorded 865 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 21,363. There are 3 new deaths reported in Sabah and the death toll is now 190.

The Ministry of Health has reported 455 new recoveries and a total of 13,717 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 64.21% while the mortality rate is now 0.89%.

There are currently 7,456 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 99 are in ICU while 32 require respiratory support.

Out of the 865 new cases today, 7 are imported while 858 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 643 cases which includes 253 cases in prisons, followed by Selangor with 107 cases, Labuan with 34 cases and Pulau Pinang with 26 cases.

The Ministry of Health has also identified 2 new clusters today. This includes Hentian cluster in Hulu Langat, Selangor and Bukit cluster in Melaka. The Kepayan cluster in Sabah recorded 135 new cases today, followed by the Auto cluster with 41 new cases and Saguking cluster with 30 new cases.
