Here’s what the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra might look like and it’s coming sooner than you think

Serial leakster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @Onleaks) is on a roll. Shortly after dropping high-resolution renders of the Samsung Galaxy S21, he has also published CAD renders of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This would be the new top-of-the line model which will replace the current Galaxy S20 Ultra.

True to its Ultra name, the device will get a larger screen which is said to measure between 6.7″ to 6.9″. Samsung is still retaining a dual-curved display for its most expensive model but it curvature appears to be less prominent compared to its predecessor. It is also likely that Samsung will continue to push a high screen refresh rate of at least 120Hz.

If you turn to the rear, the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with a huge bump that houses four cameras. One of it has a rectangular module which indicates that it’s a periscope telephoto camera. Unlike the standard S21, the LED flash is placed within the camera bump.

On this year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung boasts 100x Space zoom which is achieved by combining images taken from its 48MP telephoto camera with its 108MP main sensor. It would be interesting to see if Samsung can raise the bar higher considering they have taken a step back on the Note 20 Ultra with a lower 50x space zoom.

According to Steve, many had speculated that the next S21 Ultra may come with an S Pen. From his renders, the new Samsung flagship doesn’t come with an S Pen silo, however, he added that there’s a possibility that the hardware could still support it but as a separate accessory.

If you want to see how it compares with the standard Galaxy S21, you can check out both renders side by side below.

Do note that the Galaxy S21 Ultra name isn’t confirmed yet and Samsung may make a jump from S20 to S30 similar to Huawei’s flagship lineup. It is speculated that Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event may take place as early as January 2021.

Since Malaysia is a key market, you can expect Samsung Malaysia to offer pre-orders shortly after its global launch. Looking at this year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra, be prepared to fork out more than RM5,000 for the next Ultra when it goes on sale.
