CMCO: Dine-in up to 4 people per table now allowed, if the table is big enough

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that the maximum limit of 2 person per table for dine-in at restaurants is now increased to four. This is permitted if the size of the table is big enough.

He said this during yesterday’s National Security Council briefing and has also reminded everyone to follow the SOP.

The minister said that the current conditions were similar to the CMCO that was introduced in May which was subsequently relaxed in June during the RMCO. He said during the RMCO, tables were allowed to be joined together as long as there’s sufficient space for physical distancing.

Although dine-ins are allowed at restaurant and eateries, the government is still encouraging people to order their food via takeaway, delivery or drive-through to minimise the risk of infection.

The Klang Valley is currently placed under a Conditional Movement Control Order since 14th October for a period of two weeks. During the CMCO, interdistrict travel is not permitted in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. However, those who need to travel interdistrict for work are allowed to do so with a work pass or authorisation letter from their employers. On top of that, only two person per household are allowed to leave their home to buy essentials during the CMCO period.
