YouTuber arrested for allegedly possessing child porn, says he’s “innocent until proven guilty”

YouTuber The Muslim Apologist A.K.A. MENJ was arrested during a raid on a bungalow in Batu 9, Cheras at about 9PM on 17 September. The man was arrested on suspicion of accessing and possessing child pornography.

“Our team has received information from the Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Unit about a child pornography case. Our team has arrested a Malay man in his 40s who has accessed or owned child pornography,” says DSP Noorhamasireen Boothnam Ekkasok, head of the Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11) of the Selangor state police headquarters.

However, MENJ denied the allegations, but confirmed that he was the person who was arrested. He told The Vibes that he “does not have child porn”. He did, however, admit that he does watch and possess adult pornography.

“Bukit Aman apparently found some sort of IP ping, okay, alerting to a child porn activity in my area, okay. They claim to pinpoint it to my house. So they sent a team, the D11 team from IPK Selangor (state headquarters) in Shah Alam to my home and raided my place. And they confiscated my phone, my computers and so on… But the thing is, I’ll tell you what happened. The thing is I was just back from home… Back home, because I came back from golf and I was taking a bath when they came to my house. So how is it possible I was surfing child porn while I was bathing?,” explained MENJ about the arrest.

During the raid, a modem, router, CPU, three Samsung monitors and five external hard disk drives were seized. MENJ is currently out on bail, and he even posted a YouTube video on his channel containing his official statement.

“I have not been charged in any court of law. Therefore I am innocent until proven guilty,” he says in his video.

He also called out “two clowns of the internet” David “Psychopath” Wood and Rob “Pedo” Christian (his own words) who have been “making videos mocking and smearing” his “good” name even though he has not been charged. He also added that in their religion, “justice is not a main feature”. Clearly, there is some “beauty-guru” level drama going around in this part of YouTube.

Though he’s out on bail, investigations will be conducted under Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, and Section 292 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the suspect could face imprisonment not exceeding five years, or a fine not exceeding RM10,000 or both.
