Despite its 15.5mm slim profile, the UH-X comes with a comprehensive collection of connectivity ports including USB-A, USB-C and a full-size HDMI port.

Pricing and availability

According to the Japanese device maker, the UH-X will be available from 28 September onwards through retailers like Gloo and Thunder Match Technology (TMT). The pricing for the two variants of the laptop are as follows:

Intel Core i5 + 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD – RM4,199

Fujitsu is offering a launch promo bundle that will include Microsoft Office 365 (worth RM269) and a Targus laptop sleeve (worth RM169) with every purchase of the UH-X. This promo is stated to run until 11 October.

In addition, Fujitsu said customers stand a chance to get a 22” Lenovo L22e monitor (worth RM335) when they buy the i5 variant or a 27” Lenovo L27i monitor (worth RM587) with a purchase of the i7 specced laptop.

However, retailer TMT lists on its online website that every customer will get a free monitor when they purchase the laptop.

Hardware and specs

The UH-X packs a 13.3” Full HD LED backlit display and is complemented by a webcam that supports Windows Hello, for easy unlocking. Aesthetically, the Fujitsu’s latest laptop sports a uni colour design, in either white or black, that the company claims makes for a simpler yet more stylish finish.

Though it is thin and lightweight, the brand said it has not skimmed on the quality and durability of the device, going as far as conducting rigorous stress and drop tests on the laptop. Fujitsu said it has subjected the device to drop tests from a height of 76cm (roughly 2.5 feet) and pressure tests that saw the laptop able to withstand a full surface pressure test where 200kgf (kilogram-force) was applied to it.

That goes to say that despite its slim and sleek exterior the UH-X Fujitsu claims the laptop is durable. The laptop comes with an 84-key keyboard that is backlit and has key travel of 1.5mm. This is paired with a generously sized multi gesture trackpad.

Under the hood, the UH-X can be configured up to a 10th Gen Intel i7-10510U processor paired up to 16GB of LPDDR3-2133 RAM and a 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD. Another variant of the UH-X comes with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10210U processor that is mated with 8GB LPDDR3-2133 RAM and 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD.

Both variants come with Intel UHD graphics, so don’t expect it get a lot of graphic intensive work or gaming done on this device. But chances are you are buying UH-X for its ability to crunch spreadsheets, presentations and word documents rather than making the high-score in a game. Besides that, the UH-X supports the latest WiFi 6 standard and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

The UH-X may be slim but Fujitsu managed to pack in plenty of ports on the laptop. On the sides, you will it has two USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 (Type-A) ports, full-size HDMI port, headphone jack and a SD card reader. There is even a foldable LAN port to connect to an Ethernet cable should you find yourself in a situation where there is no WiFi available.

Just to add on a bit about the USB-C ports on the device, you can use one of the ports to output 4K content. Pair it with the HDMI out port and you can connect two 4K monitors to the laptop.

The UH-X comes with 25Wh battery that is rated to last up to 7.5 hours. Also, it has a quick charge feature that allows it to recharge the laptop back up to 50% in just half an hour.
