Malaysia has recorded 150 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 10,919. Unfortunately, there’s one new death reported in Sabah and the death toll is now 134.
The Ministry of Health has reported 50 new recoveries and a total of 9,835 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.07% while the mortality rate is at 1.23%.
There are currently 950 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 6 patients are in ICU and 4 of them require respiratory support.
Out of the 150 cases reported today, there are 4 imported cases and 146 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include 3 individuals arriving from Saudi Arabia and 1 from India.
In terms of local COVID-19 cases, Sabah recorded the most with 124, followed by 10 in Selangor, 3 in Kuala Lumpur and 4 in Pahang. There are also 2 cases each in Johor and Sarawak and 1 new case in Melaka.
According to the Ministry, 3 new COVID-19 clusters have been identified with 2 located in Sabah and 1 in Kuala Lumpur. The new clusters in Sabah are Buang Sayang in Sipitang and Kg. Sakong in Semporna. Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur has a new Setapak cluster which originated from an individual that have recently travelled to Tawau and Semporna, Sabah between 17th to 20th September 2020.
As announced by the Ministry of Health yesterday, all individuals arriving from Sabah through domestic and international entry points must under COVID-19 screening and home quarantine. This will be enforced from today, 27th September until 10th October 2020.
From today’s report, there are 15 new COVID-19 cases in West Malaysia that involved individuals that have recently returned from Sabah. This includes 8 cases in Selangor, 3 in Pahang, 1 in Kuala Lumpur, 2 in Johor and 1 in Melaka.
