Vivo V20 series is coming to Malaysia by end September

Barely 5 months since the V19 was launched locally, Vivo Malaysia has announced that its new V20 series will be coming to our shores by the end of September 2020. According to the smartphone brand, the new V series phone is dedicated to “mobilegraphy” that comes in a slim and lightweight package.

The first model of the series is the Vivo V20 SE which sounds like a “cheaper” alternative of the standard Vivo V20 model. The device will be offered in two colours – Gravity Black and Oxygen Blue.

In terms of design, the Vivo V20 SE looks similar to the Huawei Nova 7 series but it appears to get a triple-camera setup for the rear. Instead of a punch-hole camera, the V20 SE still uses a tiny notch on the display for its selfie shooter.

The device charges via USB-C and it still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Since there’s no rear or side-mounted fingerprint sensor, it is likely to feature an AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Vivo Malaysia has not revealed any hardware specs but the standard Vivo V20 is speculated to run on a Snapdragon 765 processor with 8GB of RAM and has a large 4,500mAh battery. In addition, the standard V20 is said to come with a quad-camera setup that features a 64MP main shooter.

The current Vivo V19 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage was launched in April for RM1,699. It features a 6.44″ Super AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 712 processor. At the moment, the V19 is now going for RM1,499.
