You can now buy the Sony Xperia 1 II in Malaysia

The Sony Xperia 1 II is officially coming to Malaysia but you’ll have to wait until November to get it. If you can’t wait, you can already buy the Sony flagship device locally and it’s slightly cheaper than the Galaxy Note 20 5G during a sale happening next week.

A retailer on Lazada is currently offering the Xperia 1 II for RM4,499 but it will be offered for as low as RM4,280 during the 9.9 LazMall Big Brands sale. The same device is also offered on Shopee for RM4,399.

Take note that this is an import set and it comes with a 1-year supplier warranty. The listing states that it runs on Global ROM and the device is shipped from overseas. The retailer is offering the device in 3 colours – Black, Purple and White.

At RM4,280, that’s slightly cheaper than the Xperia 1 Mark 1 when it was launched locally but Sony did offer a free WH-1000XM3 as a pre-order promo. Sony Malaysia hasn’t reveal the official price for the Xperia 1 Mark II but we are guessing that it could be priced above RM4,500. In the US, it costs as much as the Galaxy S20 Ultra but it comes with a free pair of WF-1000XM3 wireless earbuds.

The Xperia 1 Mark II features a 6.5″ 4K HDR OLED display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. The device has 8GB RAM and has 256GB of storage which still supports microSD card expansion.

For taking pictures, it gets a triple 12MP camera setup that offers both ultra-wide-angle and telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The Xperia 1 II supports 20fps continuous burst shot and has Real-time Eye Auto Focus. You also get IP68 rated dust and water resistance, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery that supports both wireless charging and USB-C PD fast charging. You can learn more about the device in our announcement page.
