Malaysia has recorded 11 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 9,385. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported today and the death toll remains at 128.
The Ministry of Health has recorded 9 new recoveries and a total of 9,092 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 96.88% while the mortality rate is 1.36%.
There are currently 165 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 4 are in ICU while 3 require respiratory support.
Out of the 11 new cases today, 7 are imported while 4 are transmitted locally. The imported cases consists of 2 Malaysians and 5 foreigners. 5 have arrived from India and there’s 1 each from the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
In terms of local cases, there are 2 cases in Selangor and 1 case each from Negeri Sembilan and Kedah. The Ministry of Health has identified a new Semenyih 2 detention centre cluster which consists of 2 immigration officers in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. The Telaga cluster has recorded 1 new case today which brings the total number of infections in the cluster to 8.
