Black Shark 3S with 120Hz screen goes on sale in Malaysia on 8th September

The latest Black Shark 3S has finally arrived in Malaysia. This is the updated flagship gaming smartphone which now comes with an improved display that pushes a higher 120Hz refresh rate.

The Black Shark 3S is said to making its global debut in Malaysia with the first sale taking place at 12am on the 8th of September via the Black Shark store on Shopee. Below is the official pricing in Malaysia:

12GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM3,499

The device comes in two colours – Skyfall Black and Crystal Blue. To sweeten the deal, Black Shark is also bundling free gifts worth up to RM850. The first 50 buyers will get a Black Shark Carry Case, a Black Shark FunCooler, 1-year screen protection, a mystery Black Shark merchandise and a RM100 voucher. The subsequent 50 customers will get a Black Shark Gamepad 2.0 Left + Gamepad 3.0 Holder, a Black Shark FunCooler, 1-year screen protection, a mystery Black Shark merchandise and RM100 voucher.

Hardware Specs

In terms of design, the Black Shark 3S exterior looks identical to the Black Shark 3 but it gets some notable hardware upgrades. Upfront, it features a 6.67″ Full HD+ AMOLED display but it pushes 120Hz instead of the previous 90Hz. It also boasts a 270MHz touch sampling rate for a responsive gaming experience. The device also features Black Shark Game Triggers that uses OMRON micro switches.

Powering the device is still a Snapdragon 865 processor with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The 3S uses UFS 3.1 storage instead of UFS 3.0 that’s found on the Black Shark 3.

For taking pictures, it gets the same triple-camera setup as the previous model with a 64MP main shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor. The selfie camera also is also a 20MP front shooter which now has a f/2.0 aperture.

Powering the device is a 4,720mAh battery and it supports 65W fast charging via USB-C. The device also features a pair of stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also included.

If you don’t need the latest, the Black Shark 3 with a 90Hz display is priced at RM2,799 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version but you can get it for RM2,494 during the upcoming 9.9 sale. Meanwhile, the 12GB + 256GB version is going for RM3,399.
