Mini Cooper SE Malaysia: Here’s what you need to know

The new all-electric Mini Cooper SE is a minimalistic three door hatch, powered by an electric motor developed by the BMW Group, capable of up to 184 hp and 270 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 150 KM/h, and the car’s 32.6kWh lithium-ion battery is stated to offer a driving range of up to 270KM on a full charge. It can be recharged up to 80% in two and a half hours with the Mini Wallbox Plus.

Exterior colours come in White Silver with Energetic Yellow pairing, British Racing Green, the Chili Red. On the interior, the Mini Cooper SE comes with an 8.8″ infotainment system that supports Apple Car Play along with a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system. You also get a wireless charger in the centre armrest.

The new all-electric Mini Cooper is officially priced at RM225,888 and it’s available at all Mini dealerships nationwide from today. With the sales tax exemption, you can purchase it for RM218,381. You can book the car online with a booking fee of RM1,000.

To find out the charging cost and the time it takes to charge, you can check out their calculator here. We’ve also made a more in-depth article for you to check out—which includes specs, features and other details.

It’s not the cheapest electric car you can get in Malaysia, as you can get the Nissan Leaf for a lot cheaper. But for an all electric Mini Cooper, I’d say the price isn’t bad considering it’s RM22,000 cheaper than Mini Cooper S.
