Acer Malaysia offer SMEs 6-month deferment for computer instalment program

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia have struggled adapting their businesses for online operations. Fortunately, Acer Malaysia is looking to assist them to transform their businesses through its use-first-pay-later scheme.

Under the scheme, businesses have the option of rent-to-own or rent-to-use, allowing them to lease a minimum of RM50,000 worth of IT devices from Acer that suits their business needs. Depending on the devices required and the monthly instalment amount they can afford, the instalment or lease period can range between 24 to 36 months.

“Acer Malaysia wants to help support these businesses in their IT needs for them to emerge stronger, continue to provide employment and contribute to the nation as SMEs are the backbone of our country’s economy,” said Acer Malaysia’s general manager of sales, product and marketing Chan Weng Hong.

The laptop maker understands that some businesses are facing cash flow constraints to invest in technology and equipment required. In light of this, the commencement of the instalments can be deferred for six months.

This means that businesses need only pay the initial instalment for the first month and begin repayment of the rest of the instalments from the seventh month onward. The use-first-pay-later scheme is said to alleviate the burden of SMEs during the initial stages of technology acquisition, allowing them to focus on generating revenue through new channels.

Apart from that Acer Malaysia is also offering a zero-interest lease option for eligible businesses. For example, a business that requires 20 units of laptops worth RM60,000. If the lease is approved, the SME would only need to pay RM2,500 per month over a two-year period. The only other cost they would incur would be insurance, stamp duty, and processing fees.

The initiative is said to provide a comprehensive solution for PCs, services, and software from Acer. Additionally, the company is offering an extended three years of on-site warranty for free with the package.

Acer Malaysia said that SMEs that prefer to opt for a hire purchase model can do so through its leasing and credit partners. It will also be providing the first 88 SMEs with a RM1,000 discount.

Acer Malaysia’s initiative is open for application now. Interested SME applicants can apply for Acer Malaysia’s scheme at their website or contact Acer Info Hotline at 1800-88-1288.
